Gina Bisignano's studio is located above The Beauty Company, a bustling salon and beauty supply store in West LA. An experienced aesthetician who doesn't mess around when it comes to skin care, Gina took a full hour and fifteen minutes to cleanse, replenish and repair our skin. She taught us that the secret to a beautiful complexion is small, clean pores, and how to get them. Our pores widen with time and exposure to toxins, sun and makeup, and according to Gina, women in Los Angeles are especially susceptible to the damage because of our exposure to pollutants in the air.

After we were snugly wrapped in white linen and comfortably positioned on soft pillows, Gina's expert hands went to work applying Puramed's Lactic Cleanser. Gina swears by this product, which cleans out and shrinks large pores without over-drying the face. Chatty and vivacious, she engaged us in conversation while taking time to massage the cheeks, temples and forehead to release facial tension. She then applied a thin layer of resurfacing peel to stimulate skin regeneration. Next came extractions: Hardened sebum under the skin usually results in blackheads, but Gina eliminated the problem before they ever reared their ugly heads. Gina then applied moisturizer and ran a high frequency wand over the face to kill any latent bacteria. The wand was revitalizing, giving the sensation of a low-grade electric tingle everywhere it touched. Last but definitely not least, Gina massaged a Dermalogica cooling mask all over the face, neck and upper back. When our skin was through being pampered and purified, we thanked Gina for a revitalizing experience that we would repeat again in a heartbeat.

I visited Gina today for waxing and eyelash extensions. I'm so glad i did.

Gina is definitely a highly qualified aesthetician and it shows. Firstly, my bikini wax was wonderfully (relatively) painless...definitely a lot less painful than any of my other aestheticians i've visited lately. Secondly, she took careful measures to maintain sanitary conditions at all times. SHE DID NOT DOUBLE DIP HER STICKS! Thirdly, she made sure I was ok, and kept asking how i was doing.

On the eyelash extensions...she asked me what i wanted, she listened intently and delivered. I'm so happy with the service i received, i expect to visit Gina again soon. My eyelashes look so natural. It was exactly what i wanted.

Overall, Gina provided a wonderful experience. She was courteous, polite, sweet and extremely professional. She actually asks what her clients want and delivers! (what a novel idea!) I would definitely recommend her services to anyone!

I'm very critical of people messing with my eyebrows, face (and lady-parts, for that matter). I happen to have very sensitive light skin and dark, coarse hair. I recently had a very bad (and expensive) bikini wax experience and thought I'd try someone new.

My experience with Gina was surprisingly pleasurable. She's totally personable and friendly - we just hit it off like we were good friends immediately. She made the experience very relaxing and was quick about things all the while maintaining proper hygiene standards (no double-dipping). Waxing is never comfortable, and depending on your hair and skin type (and wax used) you'll have mixed results, even with very experienced practitioners. Yes, my skin was red, as per usual after such a traditionally barbaric procedure, but it calmed down very quickly and I didn't break out at all! AND my lady parts have never, ever been smoother. She's a stickler for detail. I think waxing, especially eyebrow shaping, is an art unto itself, and Gina has proven herself to be extremely talented and trustworthy.

Yes, the location is a bit un-traditional. It's a very small room that obviously gets a lot of traffic (I went on a Friday afternoon). Yes, the room could use a little aesthetic improvement, but then I'm admittedly very finicky about these things.

Most importantly, however, the tools she used on me were clean, the wax was clean and I didn't see a stray pube anywhere in the joint! I've been to places that are all pretty and fancy and have seen some pretty disgusting stuff. The bottom line is, it's not a fancy establishment, but the service and expertise are exceptional.

I love this gal and will be giving her my business as long as I'm in Los Angeles. I'm looking forward to booking a facial with her soon and will update my review accordingly.

I got an fantastic deal on a Brazillian wax through Lifebooker, and Gina did an amazing job. Waxing is always painful to me, but Gina distracted me by discussing the trials and tribulations of troubled Disney stars. She is incredibly thorough, professional, and friendly. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Some helpful advice: park in the garage at Westside Pavillion, and then exit the mall and walk across the street to The Beauty Company (a store with a red awning). Go straight to the back and up the stairs to find her location.

Found Gina via a Lifebooker special. Went in a week ago and have recommended her to two friends since! I was an eyelash extension virgin before coming to her, and I have to make room to budget for more!

Gina kept in constant contact with me about my schedule, made me feel comfortable walking in, and made sure I got what I wanted. She explained to me what she was doing, what I was going to expect, and made me feel right at home. I opted for the more dramatic lashes ("go big or go home" I say), and even they look natural. I can see people look twice or stare to check out if they are real or not and they are super long. It's only a week later, but I feel like they look exactly how I looked when I walked out of her salon (note, I do have lashes on the thicker side). She didn't talk my ear off, didn't ignore me, cleaned the station, and just made me feel like one of her friends.

I think this is a "whynotimsureshe'llfitmeinandilllookglamafter" stop when it comes to eyelashes. I will def be back :)

Told her I had an important interview in 2 days and my face couldn't be red. I have been a Burke Williams girl for years. I did a Lifebooker special for eyelash extensions; it was my first time getting them. I am a mom with two kids under 3.5 and I work full time; the purpose of the eyelash extensions was to help me get out of the house quicker, and also to look more awake when I am not! I usually do that with careful makeup - but since I have so little 'get-ready' time - eyelash extensions!

I am happy with the results, and liked Gina's quirky company. She is very committed to customer service - I went back for a follow-up appointment because they weren't quite right (for me) the after the first appointment. Note: if you are a first-timer, wait a few days to get used to them before you make a decision about whether they work for you. I did that - they looked different enough that it was a surprise when I saw them on - just get used to them a bit. Once I let them sit a few days, I went back and was able to be specific about what I wanted adjusted. She made plenty of time to adjust and add to the work, and did not charge me for the second appointment.

She gets 5 stars, especially for being so committed to making sure I was happy! And - it's a bit more than 3 weeks later - my lashes are still going strong.
I haven't been to her yet for other services but would do so without hesitation. I would recommend her to anyone for eyelash extensions. Go try it!

I went to Gina for a bikini wax and had a great experience. I had just about had it with Queen Bee because it is usually difficult to get an appointment without calling way in advance. I called Gina the afternoon before and she could fit me in, no problem.

Contrary to one poor review I read, everything about the procedure was SANITARY and PROFESSIONAL. It was obvious to me that she is very knowledgeable about skin-care and goes out of her way to please the client.

Gina is very friendly and puts your mind at ease. And finally, her prices are so reasonable... I've never paid this little for a brazilian.

Recently went to Gina for Eyelash extensions... I've had them done once before elsewhere, and while I liked them, wasn't completely sold on keeping them. Decided to try again with Gina and Love them!

Gina's super sweet and the lashes look incredibly natural. I've had them for a month now (went for 1 touch-up) and they haven't crimped at all like the previous time I had lash extensions. She uses good quality lashes... that's key. You can't beat her price, either.

Only thing that might turn some people off- she works out of a very small room above a beauty supply store... so don't go looking for a spa experience... But I'd rather have great quality from a woman I trust any day!

Gina's awesome and cares about what she does. I'm now a loyal customer. I'll absolutely be back!

I have been doing the Brazilian biking waxing thing for a while now and have been to a few different places (I've moved a few times and had to change aestheticians). I recently relocated near the LA area and decided to try Gina's when I saw a Groupon for a $40 Brazilian and man, am I wishing that I spent the extra $15-$20 dollars on a more respectable place!

I think that if I could do zero stars I probably would. Props to Dainy L. for the review on 05/13/10, it could not be more accurate!!!

It's not so much that I minded Gina's, for the lack of a better word, loony character and odd topics of conversation, or even the fact that she was answering the phone while waxing me. It's more the seemingly TOTAL LACK of hygiene, not only of her "office" but of the surrounding facilities (ie the bathroom!). The place is unkept to put it mildly. It is how I imagine a cheap salon in say, Eastern Europe (I'm from there so I can say that).

Also, I second Dainy in the fact that NOT double dipping the wax is a standard and not an exception. Although I suppose that I should be extremely happy that she didn't (which would have been the tip of the iceberg when it comes to her services and the whole experience).

Lastly I should mention that I am thrilled and thankful not to have developed an INFECTION from the wounds that were left following her waxing job. For those that don't know - it is NOT NORMAL to have layers and layers of skin missing (contrary to what Gina will tell you once she's finished waxing your lady). Here is a little secret that I have figured out over the years that I have been waxing - the thicker the layer of wax that's laid on, the more skin's gonna come off (not necessarily more hair off, just more skin off). So here is my tip to Gina - a little goes a long way, don't lay on the wax like you're spreading chunky peanut butter on a sandwich!

Needless to say I will not be going back (despite the $40 price she offered me for future Brazilians). I would happily pay $60 elsewhere.

I was so nervous about going in for my first Brazilian wax ever but she made it a pleasant experience. I would never go to anyone else for this service because she was so amazing! Gina was great in telling me all the things to do before my appointment, the waxing was painless and so sanitary. "clean before you go and get a bikini wax . All my clients are clean."

Update -Its been 3 weeks since the treatment. The redness went away in about 5 days for the most part, but I have a discoloration/scarring near my eye. She should have known not to do peel anywhere near the eyes as the skin is more sensitive there. I am going to another place tomorrow to get advice on if I can do anything about this.

When it comes to some sort of spa or restaurant in an area I'm unfamiliar with, I always turn to Yelp. And in the wake of Queen Bee not being able to fit me in today and being absolutely desperate for an eyebrow wax before a wedding makeup trial, I turned to yelp for a competent waxer in the area.

I called a couple places, and no dice. But to my dismay, not only was overall 4 and a half star rated Gina able to fit me in, but she could see me in 15 minutes per my request.

Walking in, I was a little skeptical. She's located in a Beauty Company that I've simply walked by a million times before. But don't be fooled by appearances!

Gina was super nice, very friendly. She was very into hygiene, never double dipping a stick. She took my rather disgusting looking brows and turned them into literally my favorite eyebrow shape I've ever had. She was meticulous, thoughtful and you could really tell that she's passionate about what she does. I've been to some of the best waxers in LA, and I was definitely more than pleased with Gina's work.

When it came to payment, I had planned on bringing up the 20% off coupon I saw on her website for 1st time clients. Had I never visited the site (thanks Yelp!) I never would've known about it, and I was excited to save a little money. But I was shocked when she actually brought it up herself completely unprompted and told me that today's service would be discounted since I was a first time customer. Since it was so cheap anyway, I was happily surprised that she would willingly take a monetary hit just because she prides herself on good customer service.

I would highly recommend her (in fact, despite my frequent use of Yelp, I've never felt compelled to actually write a review myself until today). Contrary to another yelper's claim, I was not incentivized to write anything about Gina's services, but I was just simply really pleased with the service and wanted to tell people about it.

If you're like me and are looking for a great, reasonably priced eyebrow wax, you will definitely be more than pleased with Gina's work.

I'll definitely be back, next time for a facial as well!

I've gone to Gina twice and have no complaints. I guess I can see how her room could be off putting to some, but I've seen worst. She's got a great personality and talks her way through your wax and before you know it, you're done! I couldnt help but notice the review about someone biking 5 miles to wax and I dont know why someone would do that. Maybe she just didnt know, but anything chafing the crotch region is a major no no after a wax (ESPECIALLY cycling)! And I agree with Gina, u should be "clean" down there for your waxer, it's common courtesey (similar to being clean for your gyno before a pap) and actually kinda rude for you to present your flower in such a way!

I received the worst Brazilian wax IN MY LIFE from Gina last September. Why did I wait until now to write the review? Well, today I received an email offer from "Tippr" offering "$50 for a Full Brazilian Wax and Brow Style" from Gina and I decided to share my experience.

First off- when I walked into the treatment room I should have turned around and immediately walked out- it was filthy. Really dirty...it looked like it hadn't seen a scrub brush in years. But, I was going out of town & desperate for a wax, so against my better judgment I allowed her to give me the Brazilian- big mistake! I don't know if I was burned or bruised because of a cheap wax, or if Gina just has a bad technique...but for several days afterward, I had a bad red/purple mark on one side of my bikini area that I had to cover with makeup! I even took a picture because it looked so bad. I did not report her to the salon, because she is an independent contractor and just rents a room from them. Plus, I blamed myself for not walking out the minute I saw how dirty the room was.

Before, during, & after the procedure, Gina kept repeating that she would give me a big discount on future Brazilians if I gave her a 5-star review on Yelp! As if!

I would never in a million years get another wax from Gina's Waxing. Read the bad reviews on Yelp carefully- they very well may be the only truthful reviews on here.

I would never ever go to Gina's Waxing again.

Regarding Gina's response to my review:
     I have been getting waxed for more than 10 years and the ONLY time I have ever been bruised was after being waxed by Gina.

Who are writing these reviews?

I went and was horrified to see:
1. Unclean sheets on the bed
2. Black gunk under the nails of this woman Gina
3. Unprofessional, absolutely unprofessional way in which she tended to her trade, i.e. answering phone calls while waxing me. WTH?
4. Questionable origin from which the tweezer was produced (she left the room to get it)
5. A bruise near my thigh from the wax - and the fact that this is the most painful waxing I have ever received, even after lidocaine and 2 Advils
6. It's not that cheap. if it were $20, I'd understand why I am getting crappy/possibly unsanitary service (ok, nothing justifies that). I've been to far better places that offer waxing services for not much more.

Horrified. I should have walked out when I saw her hands. I went to this place in March and am only writing now because, while I generally don't write bad reviews, I saw her getting good reviews not only here but also on LifeBooker, and I didn't want other Yelpers to fall victim to this madness.

I was a loyal client to my last waxing lady for nearly 10 years. Unfortunately, she passed away 6 months ago and I had to find someone new. She was not only someone I went to for service but someone I looked forward to seeing and catching up with on her life and mine. These are big shoes to fill.

For me, this is an up close and personal experience and you want to be comfortable whether you're like me with general eye brow waxing or something a little more personal like bikini or Brazilian waxing and/or some sort of chemical peel or facial.

Gina is straight forward - she tells it like it is with a sense of humor. She's got a warm and personable demeanor and she loves her craft! If you're not happy she prefers you let her know so she can critique things to your liking. Afterall, we're all different with our expectations. This is a no frills environment so if you want an amazing facial, wax job, chemical peel "whatever" the money goes further here. I was SO nervous for my first bikini wax but, like everyone else here says, Gina is so personable and so fun that she made a potentially really uncomfortable situation as comfortable as it could possibly be. She talks to you the whole way through and distracts you from the hair-ripping going on down below. She does a great job and is really thorough.

If you go for a bikini wax, she'll offer to sell you a gel called Prince Reign to prevent ingrowns and bumps...she's NOT just trying to get you to spend more money. It's great stuff, and she doesn't mark up the price.

She also did my eyebrows. I had always thought that they were in pretty good shape and didn't need waxing, but she made them look even better!

I'm definitely a waxing convert and will absolutely be a faithful client of Gina's.

So after doing a lot of research over the internet I called Gina and got an appointment for a Chemical peel+Facial and Brazilian. I liked her immediatly over the phone. She's so personable and tells it like it is. Her place isn't one of the fancy spa's out there, but for me that doesn't matter and she even told me that over the phone. I'm looking for someone who does the job to perfection and make every penny count. So if that's what you're interested in- Gina is where you should go. She's so vibrant and you can tell she loves what she does too. I really had the worst skin, acne you can imagine and she worked so hard on me and even though it's painful she made me feel so comfortable and never once made me feel icky. Gina does amazing work. She is very meticulous and detail oriented, as well as very kind and friendly. I had a bad experience full of pain, redness and irritation the first time I got my eyebrows waxed, and so I was apprehensive at first when I went to see Gina to get them waxed again. Gina however put me at ease and did an excellent job on my eyebrows. She was such a sweetheart, and I felt so comfortable with her that while she was waxing I didn't even feel pain.

Also, ladies, you know how hard it is to find someone to trust with the "girly things." Gina is someone you should definitely go to for such services. She is so gentle and takes great care of you. You will love the results you get.

Gina does great work and is someone with whom I will definitely be a loyal client.

Gina made miracles happen when she shaped my eyebrows simply the way I wanted it. It was not too bushy that has happened in the last months that I got it waxed elsewhere and I am completely satisfied with her job here. She is very particular with the eyebrows and ensures that it looks good.

I then decided to get a facial and she did an amazing job! I even got a fatty discount because I'm in grad school and a student-teacher. I really appreciated her patience because I hate getting facials, but face is lookin flawless!

I would not go anywhere else and probably will be back for another facial and eyebrow fix :-)

Gina has a small studio above a beauty supply shop. You have to navigate your way through the shop to get there but it is worth it. I moved and needed a new bikini waxer and went to her for the first time yesterday. Gina is quick and efficient and very personable while she is doing it. Let's face it, getting waxed is self inflicted beauty torture, but Gina makes it as quick and painless as possible. You can tell that she loves her clients and works toward making and keeping relationships. I will defintely go back!

Gina gets 5 stars from me because I think that she is the best at what she does. I have been a very satisfied client for 5 years! I just had my third visit with Gina and am as happy as ever with her services. I am one of those whose acne is unforgiving around that time of the month. This most recent session was my shortest because I didn't have that many blemishes!

Gina is worth every penny. Not only is she very thorough in her extractions, she gives very helpful advice for the after care of my skin. She was truthful about what to expect with my face after my first peel and after everything healed, my skin was flawless and manageable for weeks. The location of her business is unassuming but quiet and comfortable. Gina is open and friendly but remains professional. I did experience some discomfort at times but she would not persist if the procedure became painful. C'mon ladies, getting pretty is not always a walk in the park! I highly recommend Gina. Gina's place is probably the best bang for your buck you can get. I am a model and have had several facials over the years and not only is she very reasonably priced but she goes above and beyond. Gina! She is such a doll. I had never had a brazilian wax before and I was terrified! Gina reassured me and made me feel so comfortable in such a vulnerable position. It was hardly painful. the only thing i knew about waxing was that when a certain character in a certain movie about a certain 40 year old virgin got one, it was the worst experience of his life.

so, naturally, i was a bit scared.

now, i've never gotten a wax from anyone else, so i have no idea how good a wax person is "supposed" to be, but i do know that Gina made it about as painless and enjoyable as such a painful and unenjoyable activity could've possibly been.

I definitely recommend going to Gina for bikini waxing. She is really nice and professional. Although there is nothing "comfortable" about getting waxed, she seems to make the experience as quick, painless, and un-awkward as possible.
